Aries as a Parent
The enthusiasm and high energy levels of Aries parents make them a wonderful parents. They are able to inspire children who are far less assertive than themselves. They try to get the most out of having children and love to help their children develop their own interests both in the home and at school. As a young parent, they may feel very impatient with their children at times, however, it soon passes over and they keep no resentment to mar the relationship. In fact, an Aries parent usually has very few problems with the generation gap between parent and child.
An Aries mother organises her time well so she can spend the maximum time with her children in various activities, but she also needs to be able to feel that she has freedom. She can very easily feel trapped in the house.
An Aries parent needs to be praised and feel appreciated for their efforts by both child and partner.
Taurus as a Parent
A Taurean parent works hard to see that the child has access to opportunities that they never had. However, just as Taureans tend to over-indulge themselves, they also tend to over-indulge their children. Money is important to a Taurean, so they like to see their children saving up their pocket money to spend on luxuries. Spending on education is also seen as extremely worthwhile. A Taurean parent is never short on cuddles, even though they insist on discipline and manners. They should watch that they avoid being too dogmatic, and explain more about why they are doing, so that the child understands, otherwise, a generation gap could easily arise.
Gemini as a Parent
The Gemini mother or father is lively, adaptable, sensible and positive. The Gemini parent presents his or her children with a constant stream of new ideas and experiences. You like to be able to broaden your children's minds and your home environment will be extremely stimulating. You can sometimes be more in touch with the current trends than your children. The Gemini father is the eternal Peter Pan.
You may need to make allowances for your children's slower grasp of concepts when you expose your children to new ideas and not be too impatient or critical. Constant childish chatter and repetitive noise can irritate you, and you will need frequent breaks, especially if you are stuck at home. But a Gemini mother usually has no problems managing a family, home and a job all at once.
Your children may find your quick changes of mood bewildering, and if your children are of the plodding type, they may overtax your limited supply of patience.
Cancer as a Parent
You should look for any career where you feel that you are protecting or caring for others. You make a loyal and creative worker, although if you are worried about something, you can get into a flap and intellectually your work will suffer. Physical exercise is excellent because it helps you work off any aggression and anger you feel. You can be extremely shrewd, so you do well in business. Other lines of work that may suit are nursing, working with children, catering, the antiques trade and working with anything to do with the sea.
Leo as a Parent
Leo is the Sign that represents fatherhood. Leo parents are enthusiastic and are prepared to spend a great deal on education and educational holidays. A Leo mother or father will raise their children in a straightforward and honest way.
Leo parents encourage their children to use their natural talents. However that Leo enthusiasm can swamp and overwhelm quieter and more timid children. Leo parents need to be careful not to expect too much from their children, or to live out their own desires and wishes vicariously through their children.
Virgo as a Parent
Virgo parents tend to plan their family and their children. Even though Virgo parents can be quite strict, especially in matters of routine, diet and hygiene, they are a still very loving parents. However, sometimes they can be a little reserved in expressing their love. Virgo mothers and fathers make inspiring teachers of children and are able to show their children the value of honesty, responsibility and duty.
The Virgo parent is keen to fill his or her children's lives with a great many interesting and varied activities. They also may be keen to teach them to read and talk at an early age. Virgo parents like an orderly home, but they must learn to delegate the household chores more around the home so that they do not overburden themselves.
Libra as a Parent
A Libra parent is easy-going and is able to instil good manners and the social graces in his or her children. Libran parents encourage their children to dress well and follow extracurricular interests, whilst being prepared to provide the money for these activities. Libran parents will often say yes just to keep the peace, as they detest disharmony in the family. However, Libran indecisiveness can be very frustrating to their children when the children need a quick answer. The same goes for the 'go ask your mother/father' routine. But the children of Libran parents soon learn to twist them around their little fingers!
Scorpio as a Parent
Scorpio parents can be a strict disciplinarians, although they do also reward their children generously for efforts made. However, a Scorpio parent hates seeing their children wasting their time and their potential. Scorpio parents can be quite demanding in what they expect of their children and may find it difficult to relate to them if their attitude to life is very different from their own. The Scorpio relationship with their children is very intense and emotional, even though the Scorpio parent may not always be overly demonstrative.
The children of Scorpio parents may see them as overbearing and overly suspicious, because even though Scorpio parents like to keep their own lives private, they don't always extend the same freedom to privacy to their children.
Scorpio parents are very good at intuiting what their children need, and their vivid imagination allows them entry into their children's world.
A Scorpio mother has the intensity and power to efficiently and quite comfortably deal with a job, a family and the household all at the same time.
Sagittarius as a Parent
A Sagittarian mother secretly fears that she is not up to the responsibilities of motherhood. A Sagittarian father is the archetypal reluctant father. However the Sagittarian parent's natural enthusiasm and zest for life makes him or her an ideal parent. Once they have decided to have children, Sagittarian parents will be quite sentimental about their children and willing to make sacrifices for them.
Sagittarian parents are fascinated by their children's development and will want to teach them to read at an early age. However, they may find their toddler's conversation and limited behaviour boring. Sagittarian parents need to make the effort to find time away, or else their growing restlessness will affect them negatively.
Sagittarian parents need to be aware that their enthusiasm may make them too demanding, especially if their children do not want to take advantage of all the opportunities available to them.
Capricorn as a Parent
Capricorn parents can be a lot of fun because they put their all into the job of being a good parent. Capricorn parents are keen for their children to excel and are happy to participate part in many school and extra-curricular activities.
Capricorn mothers often wish to go back to work as soon as possible as they find it very hard to take the loss of income. Capricorn fathers can seem distant and unapproachable to their children, although they would vigorously deny this.
Capricorn parents should listen to their family when they are told to relax. They are very reluctant to break the familiar routine and are not always comfortable to new suggestions. Because Capricorn parents expect their children to fit into schedules and plans, they may seem insensitive to their children's individual needs. However, this is not because of a lack of caring, rather it is because they care so much about ensuring that their children succeed.
Aquarius as a Parent
Aquarian parents are very patient with their children. Children love the Aquarian parents' talent for fantasy and storytelling. Aquarian parents can be quite unconventional. In fact, their children may seem more conventional than they are. Aquarian parents listen fairly and carefully to what their children have to say, come straight to the point, and try to treat their children with honesty and like little adults.
At times, Aquarian parents can seem distracted, but they are full of warmth and do care, even though this may not be spontaneously expressed with outbursts of warmth and physical contact.
Aquarian parents are greatly concerned with their children's education, as well as their freedom of expression. They want to raise their children to be independent and self-sufficient. Aquarian parents are very conscious of their duty towards their children.
The only trap that Aquarian parents fall into, is assuming that their children see life in exactly the same way that they do.
Pisces as a Parent
A Pisces mother or father makes a wonderful parent, although sometimes he or she is too easy-going and may lack discipline. Pisces parents are able to understand a child's world because they never truly left it.
Pisces parents do everything possible to help their children realise their potential, with full encouragement and support. However, clever young children have no problem twisting a Pisces parent around their little finger. If the child of Pisces parents is particularly successful, the Pisces parents must not make the mistake of allowing the child to become their alter ego, or living their life vicariously through their child.
